The 2008 Essen Motor Show was the highlight of the 2008 European custom car shows, attracting Europe's best car tuners such as ABT, Brabus and more. Over 550 exhibitors from 19 different countries displayed their automotive wares in 17 halls of the Messe Essen exhibition center, making it one of the biggest car showsin Europe!. The car of the 2008 show was undoubtedly the new Volkswagen Scirocco but the old favorite, the Audi TT gave it some stiff competition, as did the Audi R8. The show was open to the public from November 29, with a preview day for the press on the 28th.
