Honda Motor Company, Ltd. is a Japanese manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles and is currently the second-largest Japanese automobile manufacturer. The company started out as a motorcycle manufacture after World War II, becoming world's largest motorcycle manufacture by 1963. 1963 also saw the production of the first production Honda automobile in the shape of the Honda T360 mini pick-up truck. Later that year Honda produced its first car, the chain driven Honda S500. In 1986 Honda became the first Japanese automobile manufacturer to create a dedicated luxury brand in North America market with the establishment of the Acura brand.
