The Honda S2000 was first seen as a concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1995 and was launched in 1999 as a 2000 model to celebrate Honda's 50th anniversary. The S2000 continued the nomenclature of cars such as the S500, S600, and S800 roadsters of the 1960's, featuring a 2 Liter engine and rear-wheel-drive. In 2008 the Honda S2000 CR (Club Racer) was introduced and the following year the final model, the Honda S2000 Ultimate Edition, was released. Later that year the Honda S2000 was discontinued.
