The Lamborghini Gallardo was designed by Luc Donckerwolke and was introduced in 2003. It is sold alongside the larger and more powerful Lamborghini Murciélago and was designed to compete with the Ferrari 360 and the Ferrari F430. The Lamborghini Gallardo has an all-wheel drive system which sets it apart from its rear-wheel drive competitors. The Lamborghini Gallardo SE (for Special Edition) was introduced 2005; while the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder was introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2006.
