The Lamborghini Miura is a mid-engined sports car that was first introduced at the Turin Motor Show in 1965 where only the chassis was shown. Marcello Gandini designed the body of the Miura and both the body and the chassis were launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1966. The car went on to compete successfully on the race tracks against the Ford GT40 and the Ferrari 250 LM at Le Mans. In 2006 a retro designed Lamborghini Miura concept car was presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
