The Lamborghini Murciélago was first introduced in 2002 as the successor to the Lamborghini Diablo. It is a two-door, two-seat coupé that was designed by Luc Donckerwolke. The Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster was introduced in 2004. In 2006 the Lamborghini Murciélago was renamed the Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 when it received a minor facelift and its 6.2-liter engine was replaced by a 6.5-liter engine.
